Free courses from Bluecoat. At the bottom of the page...basic how-tos on their products.

  1. Sounds great! I had a look at the Bluecoat site this morning.

Not that I'm one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but why are they offering what seem to be genuinely job-skill relevant courses for free? Although as I'm writing this, I'm recalling that Oracle does the same thing. They do provide some truly non-marketing, skills-oriented training classes for free, in numerous cities around the USA, sometimes even with free breakfast.

I guess I've read too many supposedly free white papers that are really just ads for the particular application, rather than about a concept or methodology. I'm thinking of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence products, and many (but not all) statistical/analytical programming languages, the super high-level kind that use interpreters and GUI's, and the code doesn't need to be compiled and linked before running ;@)

Thanks for info about Bluecoat! The good free things like this (and the Oracle query writing classes) don't need a lot of publicity.

  2. Once I tried to sign up for a course, it seems they want registration which seems to require a serial number or the like. What crap! I might try to get one somehow.
